How to make money from your home
Everyone would like to sit at home bringing in the big bucks. I know because I’ve been there plenty of times. Whether you’re stressing due to overwhelming debt or just wouldn’t mind a little extra cash in your pocket, this article is meant for you. With this article I’m going to go through step by step how to achieve this. Keep in mind I am in no way promising you’ll make enough money to quit your job. As you’ll soon read you’ll earn what you put into it.
Paid surveys are commonly thought of as a waste of time or a scam that doesn’t pay off at in the end. Even for the ones that do pay, they don’t pay a whole lot. However, when you subscribe to several survey sites you might be surprised and have the extra pocket cash at the end of the money to pick up that new Xbox 360 game you’ve been so eagerly awaiting. For a constantly updated list of current paying survey sites visit surveypolice.com.
Now the key to going the paid survey route is sign up with multiple sites. Each site only has so many surveys available at a time. The more sites you sign up with, the more surveys available for you to take. The more surveys you take the more money that goes into your pocket. Only downside to taking surveys is you won’t earn a tremendous amount of money off of it. The plus side to it is its quick and easy, something you can do if your amount of free time is limited. I know several people, including an aunt and uncle of mine, that are satisfied with just taking surveys as an extra small amount of income here and there.
Next we’re going to talk a little bit about programs you sign up for, most of the time you pay an entry fee, after all of that they tell you how to make money. There are so many different kinds of programs and other offers similar to this; it is hard to correctly categorize it. I’m going to be honest and upfront with you. 90% or more of these offers are scams. They only exist to lure you in so you can pay the initial fee and then get stuck with a bunch of useless information if any at all. Don’t get me wrong though, there are some that work and pay off in the end. I have yet to hear from anyone who has tried Ty’s reverse funnel system, but I have read up on it and with what I have read it seems like something I would invest in. Point is if you choose this path expect to get ripped off quite a bit before finding one that works. Some work wonders for some people and haven’t for others. This subject is one you’ll just have to search through for yourself to find something that can fit you as well as your budget for the amount your willing to invest. I read on Ty’s website that it is best if you have at least or around two thousand dollars to initially invest into the program. Overall, this method of going about attempting to make an extra source of income isn’t for everyone.
Finally we have my personal favorite, blogs. Blogs have so many ways of potential sources of income, more than anything else I have listed here in this article. The first step to blogs is figuring out which blog software you wish to use. I recommend Word Press as that is the software I use for this website. You have two options to choose from about setting this up. You can either go to wordpress.com to setup your free blog that’s hosted on wordpress.com. That would obviously be the best choice for starting bloggers or those of you who have little experience in building your own website. Your second choice would be to create your own website, download the Word Press software, and then install it on your server. I have previously wrote about how frustrating it was at first to get Word Press to look exactly how I wanted it to, but it was more than worth the effort. If you want a great hosting service with free domain and monthly fees starting as low as $4.95 a month, check out the webhostingpad.com advertisement towards the left of this page. They have excellent service and if you click on it from my website and purchase the service you will also be helping support this website. The more support for this website I receive, the more I can help you by writing all of these tips on the website for your use. If you choose to get your blog hosted on wordpess.com, then you are limited to only the option of advertisements. With your own personal website the options are significantly increased. With your own personal website you can also setup other features on your site other than your blog. Not only will you receive higher traffic with your own website, you’ll also be able to experiment with other ideas you may have as other sources of income.
Let’s get into some of the sources of income you can create from your own personal website. I’ll show you a list of things then go into detail about each afterwards.
- Google Adsense
- Donations
- Affiliations
- Deals with other businesses
- Selling advertising space
For now I have only listed five that we’ll get into, check back at this page in the future as I will have updated this with even more items as I find them. The first one we have is Google Adsense. I can’t express how important it is to sign up for this and get it started on your site and blog. After signing up they got back to me in about four days, which isn’t bad. Easy to setup on your blog, just copy and paste the code after setting it up to how you want it to look. The program pays per click as well as for so many impressions. I originally heard nothing but praise about Google Adsense, so I checked it out. One of the best decisions I have ever made.
Donations are a different subject for some. I know many website owners disagree that this is useful to have on a website as for some it brings in no money what so ever. Other site owners note that they receive a great deal of income through donations. Here is my point of view on donations. All you have to do is go over to paypal.com and setup an account. They have a feature on their site that is very helpful on creating donation links for people to click and donate money. From there you can either sign up for a paypal debit card or have it directly deposited into your bank account. Either way this is completely automated. You go through and set it up and then post the link on your site and that’s it. Whether it makes money or not, you haven’t invested anything into it. There really isn’t a reason not to give donations a try. This website is the first time I am attempting to utilize this as a source of income. If one of my readers wishes to support this website by donating five dollars for all the hard work that’s gone into it, paypal would have then been worth setting up.
Affiliations are another one of those things that won’t bring in much money if any at all. Most affiliations require the user to purchase something after clicking on the ad to bring in revenue to the owner of the website. A good idea to consider when setting up affiliations, such as the Amazon and WebHostingPad advertisements on this site, is to remember to try and closely match what they sell to what your site offers. If your website deals with religion, having gaming advertisements isn’t going to do much good.
A major source of income can come from deals with other businesses. For example, if your site sells products you could arrange a deal with another business to sell their products and vice versa to create nice royalty checks at the end of every month. Depending on your website and your main topic will greatly influence this source of income, so there really isn’t much to go into detail about. Just keep in mind that if a deal comes by you and it seems like both of you could profit from it, don’t hesitate to give it a try. If it doesn’t work out for you after two or three months end the deal. If it does work out you’ve just earned yourself another source of income.
Last but not least we have selling advertisement space. Really this could have been classified under deals with other businesses, but I didn’t because there are a lot of options that you can go about with this. First off, if you don’t have a high traffic website, the chances of you being able to successfully sell advertising space isn’t going to look to good. There are also a couple programs you can enroll in such as Text Ads to help sell the advertising space. Search around you may find something I haven’t come across yet. For those two reasons alone I gave selling advertisement space its own paragraph. The more traffic equals more opportunity to sell space.
With blogs, the more traffic you have the more options you have available and more money you can make from the options already available. One key thing to remember though is make sure people have a reason to want to come to your site in the first place. With a blog, if you have quality content people are going to want to read, the more traffic you will receive. I also recommend picking your topic something you enjoy. If you try to write about something that you aren’t really into, chances are you’ll get burnt out on the subject and the site will die off. If you choose something your passionate about and already familiar with the better your chances are at making it a long term source of income as well as something you’ll want to continue with.
