How to make money in Entropia Universe

    February 11, 2008 — Jimmy Lofton

In Entropia Universe there are several ways to make a profit in game.  The game appeals to most players due to the fact that there is a chance to win real money and transfer it into your checking account or Entropia Universe Card for you to spend how you please.  The game began as Project Entropia and later evolved into Entropia Universe.  First off i’m gonna lay out some facts for you.  Not everyone will make money or get rich from this game.  It all depends on how much time you put into the game and how you play it.  Secondly, you never have to deposit real money into the game.  With that said lets continue on to the guide of how to make money in Entropia Universe.

First thing you need to do if you don’t plan on depositing any money into the game is learn how to sweat.  For those who start off in Port Atlantis, go straight until you see the auction house on your left.  Once there take a right and go straight you’ll pass up the teleporter and bank NEVERDIE will be on your left.  Once you keep heading straight you’ll eventually exit Port Atlantis and cross a little stream and pass up the pet ranch or whatever it’s called now-a-days.  Eventually you’ll hit the “sweat farm” where there are dozens of monsters respawning and a turret to keep you safe when over ran by to many.  Keep sweating and leveling up your sweat ability until you have about 15-20 PED.  You can usually sell 1,000 sweat for anywhere in between 5-6 PED.  Now you might be thinking thats not alot for that much work, but hey its free money.  You can sell the sweat most of the time by the turret at the sweat farm or the teleporter in Port Atlantis.  While doing all of this keep in mind to watch out for the ground as fruit and other items are randomly placed there for you to pick up and sell to other players.

After you raise up enough PED to start exploring other aspects of the game its time to start exploring other aspects of the game.  Most people will tell you that you need a FAP 5 or other healing device.  I never understood why anyone would buy one at such an early part in the game.  Right now you more than likely don’t have any armor so nothing depreciates and using a healing device costs you each time you use it.  If you choose to buy a healing device so you can start leveling up your healing skill then thats your choice.  As for me, I went straight with a gun as you’ll need to protect yourself and the faster you start leveling up your combat abilities the better.  Keep in mind that abilities are worth money to.  I recommend going straight to the rifle as the starting handgun is considerably weak compared to the rifle.  The rifle uses two cells compared to the handgun’s one cell a shot, but after testing out both as a starter weapon you’ll get much farther and quicker with the rifle.

Now that you’ve spent your 15-20 PED on a rifle and ammunition, time to go back and sweat some more or go hunting.  I recommend sweating some more as its always good to have extra PED incase you find a hunting party that may last awhile and you may need to buy the extra ammunition to keep up.  I immediately began hunting and had some luck with the drops as I have been breaking fairly even throughout my whole hunting career as far as ammo costs versus drop value.  Keep in mind when you finally do get to the stage of equiping armor the cost of hunting goes up, but you’ll be able to fight tougher enemies which drop better loot.

So now that you’ve gotten the hang of sweating and basic hunting, its time to start making some serious money.  The game is made to make money for itself, not the player.  If it was the other way around it would be bankrupt by now.  Majority of the ways to make money is to make it from other players.  There are a large amount of players I have met in game that deposit sick amounts of money into the game each month.  The way you make money off of other players is mostly trading and reselling.  Granted reselling isn’t a well respected profession in Entropia, but to hell with it your here to make some money.  You’ve already began trading by selling your sweat, but here we’ll be focusing on all items in Entropia.  Crafters and such aren’t going to want to mess around with 25 amount of supplies here and there.  If you were able to collect all the small amounts of supplies and put them together with about 500-1000 you can sell them and they’ll pay kindly for saving them some trouble.  Also constantly check the auction house for items that are selling below the market value and buy immediately before someone else does.  I have personally bought things such as paladin armor for around market value and resold for well above market value.  Every little bit helps and even though the auction house charges a fee to place items in the auction house, it’s a completely automated system for you to drop in your items and wait a couple of days for the money to come back to you.  If you can help it never sell things at the trade terminal or “TT” for short.  Keep this up as well as the occasional sweat for additional income and surely enough you’ll be seeing a profit soon enough.

Next you’ll have to choose a main profession.  I am not going to list all of the professions unless asked to do so through the contact link above as there are several other guides on this.  If you find theirs lacking however I will be more than happy to add that in here, so just ask!  Starting out in a profession is EXTREMELY expensive.  You’ll need to revert back to trading and sweating here and there to maintain funds for leveling up your skill in your choosen profession.  With the variety of professions there are several ways to go about making money off of them when you’ve leveled up your skills high enough to be successful at it.  To make the most money out of the game, keep in mind that you need to offer your services to other players.  For instance if your a crafter and you selected to build weapons.  Don’t sell your weapons at the TT, sell them to other players.  At first, like said earlier, you probably won’t be able to sell the weaker weapons for the amount it costed you to create them adding in the failed attempts also.  This is why we revert back to trading and sweating until the skills are leveled up enough.  There are some business tactics you can come up on your own to give yourself an edge on making money from it.  Explore with different tactics as to selling your items or services.

Now we have the advanced steps of making money in Entropia Universe.  If you’ve gotten this far in the game, let me be the first one to say congradulations.   Now we’re dealing with money on a big scale.  This deals with purchasing land to tax players for hunting and investing in expensive items which some are almost guaranteed to go up in value.  The player NEVERDIE makes a real life living from his $100,000 dollar investment in his land which he built Club Neverdie on.  By the time you get this far in the game you’ll learn from the game on how to make the big bucks.  Going into a to in-depth guide on this part would take way to many pages and be somewhat useless as you’ll already know by the time you hit this point.

If there is anything I forgot to mention or that you would like to see added please use the contact link and let me know about it.  I’ll even give you credit for it.  Until next time.
